Opening of the website for the 1st licensing round for the Dreki Area
Today, Thursday 22nd of January 2009, at 12:00, the Minister of
Industry, Energy and Tourism, Mr. Ossur Skarphedinsson, formally opened
the website for the first Licensing Round for hydrocarbon exploration
and production licenses in the Dreki Area (www.nea.is/licensinground2009).
The opening ceremony took place at the premises of the National Energy Authority (NEA) and marks the beginning of the first Licensing Round on the Icelandic continental shelf. Information for the Licensing Round is available on the above mentioned website. The NEA co-ordinates the Licensing Round on behalf of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism. The closing date of the Licensing Round is 15th of May 2009 at 16:00 GMT.
