Call for proposals, Sustainable Energy Systems 2050 - 27.10.2010

On the 25th of October 2010 Nordic Energy Research launched a new research call on Sustainable Energy Systems worth 100 million NOK. The aim is to develop integrated solutions between Renewables, Low-Carbon Transport and Grids & Markets. Cooperative Nordic research consortia are invited to submit pre-proposals before December 16th 2010.

Switzerland new member country of IPGT - 6.10.2010

Today the International Partnership for Geothermal Technology (IPGT) welcomed Switzerland as its new member country. Swiss technical experts will bring to the IPGT their technical knowledge in induced seismicity, a new topic to be added to the six existing, high-priority areas identified by IPGT as crucial to the development of the geothermal industries in each country

Iceland and U.S.A. sign bilateral agreement to develop clean geothermal energy.  - 6.10.2010

Today the United States and Iceland signed a bilateral agreement aimed at increasing the world's understanding of advanced geothermal technologies and accelerating their deployment.  The agreement was signed at the Culture House by the U.S. Ambassador to Iceland, Luis E. Arreaga, and the Icelandic Minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism, Katrín Júlíusdóttir.
